Ocean Harvesting is planning for a sea trial of it´s InfinityWEC wave energy converter at scale 1:3 in Lysekil, at the west cost of Sweden.
The proposed project constitutes the main part of Stage 3 of technology validation according to Ocean Energy Systems (OES) framework for ocean energy technologies. The project aims at validating the InfinityWEC technology, control system and its performance in the real sea environment, and to validate and calibrate the simulation tools to more accurately evaluate the full-scale system in terms of energy yield, ownership cost, affordability, availability and process efficiency.
The project will take the technology from TRL5 to TRL6, and prepared for the next development stage Stage 4 – Commercial full-scale single device demonstration. The project is fundamental for the continued development and commercialization of InfinityWEC.
